Privacy Policy
CopDrop is a personal-safety app. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. CopDrop is intended for adults (18+) in the United States only. Company: Major Solutions ("we," "us," "our"). Contact: support@majorsolutions.info.
1. Information we collect
You give us:
- Account info: first name, email address, and (optionally) mobile number.
- Trusted Circle contacts: the names and phone numbers and/or email addresses of the people you choose to alert. You are responsible for having their permission to add them (see section 4).
- Profile details you choose to add.
Created when you use CopDrop Mode (an incident):
- Location data — shared while an incident is active (and, per your permission, while the app is in use), so your circle can see where you are.
- Media you capture — audio and/or video you choose to record during an incident, and the incident record built from it.
- Incident records — timestamps, status, and events that make up the structured record of what happened.
Collected automatically: device type, operating system version, app version, and IP address; and privacy-preserving usage analytics that you can opt out of.
From our waitlist (before you have an account): name, email, optional phone, city, state, interest type, and SMS-consent status, collected via the copdrop.app waitlist.
We do not secretly record you. Capture happens only when you activate it, in the foreground, and the app shows you what is being recorded.
2. How we use your information
- To operate CopDrop Mode: notify your Trusted Circle, share available location, capture and preserve your record.
- To create, secure, and support your account.
- To send you product and early-access updates (you can opt out).
- To improve reliability, prevent abuse, and keep the service safe.
- To comply with law and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. When we share information
- With your Trusted Circle — only when you activate an incident. They receive an alert (text, email, and/or push) and a secure link to your Incident Page.
- With service providers who run the app on our behalf, under contract, limited to what they need: Supabase (secure database, file storage, backend), Twilio (text-message alerts), OpenStreetMap (maps and location display), Apple Push (APNs) / Google (FCM) (push notifications), an email provider (email alerts and updates), and Netlify / GoHighLevel (waitlist and communications).
- For legal reasons — if required by law, valid legal process, or to protect safety, rights, or property. We disclose the minimum necessary and, where lawful, will tell you.
- Business transfer — if Major Solutions is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.
4. Text messages, your Trusted Circle, and consent
- If you provide a mobile number and check the SMS consent box, you agree to receive CopDrop messages. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.
- When you add someone to your Trusted Circle, you confirm you have their permission to have CopDrop contact them on your behalf during an incident. Recipients can reply STOP to stop receiving messages.
- SMS content and delivery are handled through carrier-registered messaging (A2P 10DLC).
- We do not share your text-messaging (SMS) opt-in information or consent with any third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes. Mobile information collected for CopDrop messaging is used only to deliver the safety alerts and service messages you or the CopDrop user requested.
5. How long we keep information, and deletion
- We keep your account information while your account is active.
- You can delete your account and your records from within the app or by contacting us (see the Data Deletion page). When you delete, we remove your personal data, including from backups, within 30 days, except where we must keep limited records (below).
- Exceptions we may retain: records subject to a legal hold or required by law; SMS opt-out/STOP suppression records required to honor opt-outs; and limited, aggregated or de-identified data that no longer identifies you.
- Copies already delivered to your Trusted Circle (e.g., an alert text they received) cannot be recalled by us.
6. Your choices and rights
- Access, correct, or delete your information (see section 5 and the Data Deletion page).
- Opt out of analytics in settings.
- Opt out of texts by replying STOP; opt out of marketing emails via the unsubscribe link.
- Depending on your state, you may have additional privacy rights.
7. How we protect information
- Encryption in transit and at rest.
- Recipient Incident Page links are signed and time-limited.
- Records use integrity protection (e.g., SHA-256 hashing + timestamps) to support credibility — this is not a guarantee of legal admissibility.
- Access is least-privilege, and we log administrative access.
No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to be honest with you if something goes wrong.
8. Children
CopDrop is for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has used CopDrop, contact us and we will address it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email and update the effective date.
